Display state reporting over RS-232
See whether the screen is on, on the right input and at the right volume, not only whether the player is up.

Problem
A monitoring system can see that a player is running while the screen it feeds is off, on the wrong input or muted. Staff find out from visitors, and the system reports a healthy network with a black wall.
What we built
A project on the SpinetiX player that polls each display through the player's serial port: power, input, volume, mute and device information. Each reply is matched to its own command by the echo letter, not by timing, so a slow display never lands in the wrong field. The result is written into the player's storage as a single answer list that the customer's monitoring server reads through the player's RPC interface. LG panels are covered; the command tables also hold Samsung. A second release adds automatic discovery of daisy-chained screens with per-screen polling.
Result
The first release is on the customer's production players. The chain release is built and tested against simulated panels, off by default, and waits for an on-site check on a pilot player.
