RU Edge + Origin Hosting Architecture
One origin in Germany, a Russian edge in front of it.
- Scale
- One origin + edge pattern, 10+ live domains
Problem
Separate infrastructure per market doubles hosting cost and operational overhead; running everything from a single region leaves users in the other market on a slow, sometimes unreliable connection.
What we built
One origin server (Hetzner, Germany) holds the data and applications. A reverse-proxy edge server in Russia fronts every RU-facing domain under one apex, so Russian users connect to a Russian IP at low latency while the data and business logic stay on a single origin.
Result
Ten-plus live domains run on this pattern: websites, WebDAV, project registration, academy and DOOH monitoring, each reachable at low latency from its own market, all backed by one origin.
